  14. I. GCC 2.5.8 dumped core with an illegal instruction error in cc1 while
  15. compiling mft.c with -O2; it worked OK with -O or nothing.

  17. II. I found it necessary to link in the ICE and SM libraries from X11R6 by hand
  18. in the virmf linking stage. The makefile's command included only the X11 and Xt
  19. libraries.
